A one day retreat held over the past few years at St.Peter's Seminary. This event is open to all members of the council and is an excellent opportunity for all brothers to share in this fraternal experience under the spiritual direction and leadership of a teaching priest.
A program aimed at maintaining the focus of Christ in the Christmas season. This program has a focus on the sale of religious Christmas cards, and is designed to bring awareness to the importance of maintaining a focus of Christ throughout the season.
A mass given in memoriam for departed members of the parish. This event is open to all members of the community. All council members are encouraged to attend. Executive members attend in their ceremonial robes.
In celebration of the Christmas season, this program involves the seasonal installation and subsequent removal of Christmas lighting from the front and rear walls of the Church.
The provision of volunteer Brother Knights to handle the transportation needs of the disabled or elderly to the church.
A day for Brother Knights to gather and contribute their skills to various projects in and around the church. All volunteers welcome to assist.
Coordination of events held throughout the year, including what has traditionally been an annual New Years Eve dinner and dance to welcome the new year. Organized by the Knights, this event is an opportunity for all members of the parish to gather and celebrate together.
A fundraising activity to support a pro-life organization by distributing miniature, artificial roses at all masses over one weekend each year in May.
An activity to support St.Vincent DePaul in the delivery of children's Christmas gifts and food hampers to the needy in our parish.
To support the sale of Arthritis Car Draw lottery tickets both within the council and at local shopping malls. This program extends over several weeks.
Volunteer Brother Knights providing assistance to residents of Mount Hope Centre to attend weekend masses. The outreach schedule is published in the monthly council newsletter.
Both financial donations and on-site assistance to a L'Arche home in the community in repairs and clean up. Founded by Jean Vanier, L'Arche communities around the world provide homes where people with disabilities and assistants live and work together.
Financial support, volunteer time and various council activities to support Bethany's Hope Foundation in it's public activities. To find a cure for a genetic disorder known as Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD).
Volunteer support for fundraising activities to find a cure for A.L.S., commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Tootsie Roll Fundraising Campaign
A program newly introduced at the start of the 2005-2006 fraternal year by Bro. Peter Lierman, this program provides opportunities throughout the year for the council to sell tootsie-roll candies at various locations in the community as an ongoing fundraiser to support council activities.
The publication of a monthly newsletter, which is available to all council members and the community. This publication delivers monthly reports and updates on the activities of the Knights of Columbus.
This program is responsible for public relations activities, and to promote the good work that the council does.
The responsibility of maintaining and updating a directory including all current members and their spouses, phone numbers, etc., falls under this area.
The collection, care and safe-keeping of all Council awards and significant documents, together with photographs of Council events.
From time to time, our Council will sponsor a sports team in the Elementary schools or local youth leagues. Our sponsorship includes the furnishing of team uniforms.
The organization and provision of refreshments after council meetings and at special events.
This network is comprised of council Executives whose function is to contact all brothers with information regarding special activities and events.
The provision of help and counsel for the needs of Knights and their families in distress, and recognition at special occasions, such as births, marriages, and wedding anniversaries.
A group within the council whose purpose is to organize and execute 1st Degree Exemplifications.
The creation and maintenance of a council website. The purpose of this program is to extend our communication facilities to the World Wide Web and to enhance the ability for members and for the community to learn about and be involved with the council.
An annual fundraising breakfast for the parish community, held in February. This is a well-attended, fun event held to enable the council to donate to worthy causes.
Throughout the year, we have hosted a number of dinner events, including the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring dinners. These events are held on behalf of the parish, organized and staffed by brother knights. As an opportunity to gather as a parish family, these events are also serve as council fundraisers.
A program to extend assistance to widows and dependent children of a deceased member. The order provides many services and support for members and their families bereaving the loss of a loved one.
An award program to recognize outstanding service. Both for individual knight's and knight's families.
A fraternal activity for Knights and their children as well as less fortunate children from the community. This event comprises a tailgate supper, followed by a visit to a London Knights hockey game.
An opportunity for Knight's and their spouses to attend the Western Fair dining facility for dinner and a night at the races.
A day of golfing for all, followed by a celebratory dinner and awards.
The provision of a wide range of competitive insurance products, designed for Knights and their families. Further information about this program can be found on our homepage.
Council's involvement in various activities taking place at London's John Labatt Centre throughout the year. Our council has had the opportunity to be entered as part of a recurring draw amongst local community groups for the use of the City of London Community Suite. The council executive makes the best effort to include interested members in plans for use of the Suite when it is available to us.
A Knight's-sponsored activity for high school youth, directed at the promotion of environmental responsibility. Beginning in February, this program involves numerous fundraising activities to assist the participants, and provide for their involvement in a 10 day canoe trip in the wilderness of Northern Ontario.
A province-wide program encouraging the participation of elementary-aged students in a competitive contest. This program extends to include both local and provincial runoffs.
The council's opportunity to provide support for parish youth ministry activities.
The provision of scholarship awards to 1st year College and University students who are members of Knight's families.
An awards program designed to promote and recognize academic achievement.
The Supreme Council is proud to announce a new youth program, the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge! Designed for players to demonstrate the most basic of soccer skills -- the penalty kick -- the Soccer Challenge will be open to all boys and girls in your community, ages 10-14. The Soccer Challenge is one in which the soccer goal is divided into a series of five scoring zones, with a point value given to each section. After the participant is given 15 penalty kicks, his or her total number of points will be awarded depending upon the scoring zones that were hit. The contest will take place on the council, district, regional, state, and international levels. Information is also available from the Grand Knight.
The poster contest is for all children aged 8 to 14 years old. The contest is run on five different levels; the council level, the district level, the diocesan level, the state level and finally at an international level. There are two age divisions, ages 8 to 11 and ages 12 to 14, and there are two competition categories, Alcohol Abuse and Awareness, and Drug Abuse and Awareness.
The Youth Essay Contest is a competition for graduating students in elementary school (Grade 8) or secondary school (Grade 12). Participants write a 500 - 750 word essay on the The Responsibility of the Catholic Citizen in Society. Winners receive a monetary award.
